NFP's Austin office to host 2018 GenHERation Discovery Day
NEW YORK – July 26, 2018 – NFP, a leading insurance broker and consultant that provides employee benefits, property & casualty (P&C), retirement and individual private client solutions, is proud to welcome high school and college women to its Austin office today as a host for GenHERation Discovery Days 2018.
Discovery Days are a series of immersive summer day trips that provide high school and college women with the opportunity to visit the most innovative companies across 10 cities in America. NFP's Austin office will serve as a point of inspiration and access for young women, opening its doors to attendees for an office tour, panel discussions, networking with key female and male leaders and team-building activities.

"Through our work with NFP, thousands of young women will have the ability to learn from NFP's female leaders and develop the skills needed to be successful professionals. During GenHERation Discovery Days 2018 Austin, our members will get to experience the NFP culture firsthand, specifically how NFP puts its people first in everything that they do."
NFP will also participate in Discovery Days' Campus Connection tours in additional cities, in which NFP leaders visit local campuses to host panels and team-building activities. NFP continues to build on its relationship with GenHERation. In 2017, both organizations partnered to facilitate a project that encouraged applicants to develop a recruitment strategy for NFP that seeks to reach young women interested in working in the insurance industry. NFP selected the top submission, by Clayton Buckaloo, a student at the University of South Carolina; Clayton will receive three one-hour mentoring sessions with Lara Nichols, SVP of Procurement. The top 10 submissions were selected to receive additional interviews with NFP for consideration for their summer internship program.

Since participating in the Discovery Days program and winning the NFP contest, Buckaloo has gone on to accept an intern position with the Oprah Winfrey Network.
